Liam Brody

Senior Vice president, Root Capital

Liam Brody serves as senior vice president for Root Capital, an impact investing pioneer. Since its founding in 1999, Root Capital has disbursed nearly $1 billion in credit to over 600 businesses, serving 1.2 million marginalized farm families across Africa, Asia and Latin America. As a member of the senior management team, Liam has played a critical role in leading the organization through a half-dozen years of impressive growth and impact; building out the organization’s business development, investor relations, corporate engagement, fundraising, marketing, and impact assessment functions.

He draws on 20 years of experience growing peace, prosperity and a more just world through social enterprise, impact investing and market-based solutions to poverty. Prior to joining Root Capital, Liam was director of sustainable coffee for Keurig Green Mountain. He has also worked as a program manager, campaign director, and private sector adviser for the humanitarian organization Oxfam. Liam holds a M.Ed. in social policy from Harvard University and a B.Sc. in agricultural, extension and adult education from Cornell University.
