Joseph McIsaac

Joseph (Jay) McIsaac is a physician, biomedical engineer, author, educator, leader, entrepreneur, and innovator. He is a Partner, Director, and Vice President of the Hartford Division of Integrated Anesthesia Associates and Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Connecticut. He holds a BA in Chemistry from Case Western Reserve University, an MD from the University of Connecticut, an MS in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is presently an MBA candidate at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

He also holds graduate certificates in Leadership and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and in Terrorism Studies from the University of St. Andrews. A former military officer, Dr. McIsaac has translated his skills in force protection and nuclear, biological, and chemical defense to all-hazards preparedness and the development of medical resiliency.

He presently is the Disaster Sub-committee Chair for the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the liaison to the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine, a Founding Board Member of the Trauma Anesthesiology Society, and a Supervisory Medical Officer in the US National Disaster medical System.
