Carlos Sanchez

Coordinator of Proadapt

Carlos Sanchez is the coordinator of Proadapt, a IDB/MIF facility aimed at building climate resilience in the private sector in the LAC region. As coordinator, Carlos is responsible for the identification and design of projects in selected value chains in the region. Carlos has led the conceptualization of a financial tool aimed at supporting financial institutions in Brazil to identify, quantify and mitigate the exposure of their portfolios to climate risks.

Prior to joining the IDB, Carlos spent three years in Angola working at the Economic Office of the Embassy of Spain as foreign direct investment advisor for Spanish corporations and later as Business Development Manager for a Spanish infrastructure and energy corporation. Prior to his time in Angola, Carlos worked in India for an international trade firm. Carlos holds a MSc in International Affairs from Georgetown University and an undergraduate degree in International Business from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona.
